The USDA's biennial report forecasts a 7% increase in global orange production for the 2020/21 season, attributed to favorable weather in Brazil and Mexico, despite declines in the US and Turkey. Tangerine production is expected to rise to 33.1 million tons, primarily due to large harvests in China and the EU. However, lime and lemon production is predicted to slightly decline due to reduced harvests in Argentina and the US. Grapefruit production is expected to slightly surpass last year's level, aided by suitable weather conditions and expansion in China and Mexico. Notably, the EU's orange harvest is projected to grow by 6%, while lemons and limes are expected to grow by 11% in the EU and Turkey, with South Africa setting a record for export volumes.
