The article highlights a significant shift in Ukraine's agricultural landscape, with sunflower planting surpassing corn as the leading spring crop for the third year in a row, occupying 5,189.8 thousand hectares. This trend raises concerns about the sustainability of oilseed cultivation and necessitates an increase in grain crop areas. However, the profitability of grain production is currently threatened by high costs and risks, primarily due to the conflict. Furthermore, the article discusses strategies such as diversifying crop rotations and exploring alternative markets to mitigate these challenges. Despite the challenges, the quality of Ukrainian agricultural products is well-recognized, and efforts are being made to find new markets and partnerships to navigate the complexities of the current market dynamics.
