Zamora Company, owner of brands such as 'Licor 43', 'Ramón Bilbao', and 'Mar de Frades', has acquired the majority of the capital of Bodegas Godeval, one of the most well-known in the Denomination of Origin (DO) Valdeorras, the Murcian company has reported in a statement. The operation, financed entirely with own resources, reinforces the strategy of the Cartagena (Murcia) company to expand its range of premium white wines with international projection. Godeval, founded almost 40 years ago, is a pioneer in the resurgence of the godello grape in Galicia and has more than 50 hectares of its own vineyard. The winery will maintain its management team, including the founder, Honorato López Isla, who was vice president and CEO of Unión Fenosa, and will continue with its sustainable viticulture practices and limited production, focused on quality and the expression of the terroir.
