Following an intervention by Bird Protection Netherlands, the Zeeland Fauna Management Unit Foundation's permit to capture and gas geese has been updated with stricter regulations to protect wildlife. The revised permit mandates increased distances from breeding and resting birds in Natura 2000 areas and requires an ecologist to oversee the goose trapping activities. This adjustment aims to ensure that the geese management efforts are carried out with minimal disturbance to other bird species and their habitats.
