For the second consecutive year, the National Association of Grain Producers (NAZ) invited the ministers of agriculture, environment, and energy to its traditional annual agrarian seminar, hoping that with their support, the government would invest in restoring the irrigation channels so necessary for the vital resource in the extreme heat sweeping over the Balkans. Despite the promises made in 2024 that the budget would finally allocate funds for capital expenditures, as envisioned by the Minister of Agriculture Georgi Takhov for 2025, the planned 350 million leva were missing in this year's budget. And for the next year, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov assured the farmers that the first 350 million leva had been allocated, rather hidden in the capital expenditures for 2026, only that the farmers have not discovered them yet. The seminar took place last week, so the farmers did not suspect that today the 2026 budget would be withdrawn from parliament following mass protests ...
