Zibo kiwifruit exported to Canada for the first time

On the morning of October 11, a batch of "Biqyu" kiwifruits produced in Zibo's Boshan district successfully arrived in the Canadian market. This batch of kiwifruits, totaling 624 kilograms, was picked and exported on September 18, marking the first time Boshan kiwifruits have been exported.

It is understood that the first batch of exported kiwifruits comes from Boshan Xiaoshuiyuan Agricultural Technology Development Co., Ltd. Thirty years ago, Zibo first introduced the Biqyu kiwifruit, relying on the fertile soil, ample sunlight, and unique mountain climate of the Boshan area, along with years of artificial breeding and improvement by agricultural technicians, resulting in a rich and aromatic taste, fine flesh, and balanced acidity and sweetness. In 2011, Boshan's Biqyu kiwifruits were awarded the "National Geographical Indication Certification Mark."

Currently, the area of Biqyu kiwifruits planted in Boshan is approximately 20,000 acres, and in 2023, a better pest-resistant, waterlogging-resistant, and stress-resistant "Boshan Biqyu No. 2" was cultivated. Biqyu No. 2 is a late-ripening variety, with a ripening period that can be extended to October, offering better taste and achieving staggered sales.

The local government has introduced the leading domestic ice-temperature water molecule activation preservation technology, equipped with intelligent sorting equipment, and established a preservation warehouse with a capacity of 600 tons and a modernized packaging workshop, extending the storage period of the kiwifruits to the Spring Festival period.
