In addition, Ordu in Türkiye built new modern hazelnut orchards to improve yields and quality. Furthermore, in the first two months of 2024, Azerbaijan's hazelnut export value decreased by USD 900 thousand to USD 22.4 million. However, the Feb-24 exports increased by 7% YoY to USD 12.3 million.

Düzce, Türkiye, Exported 3.99 thousand mt of Hazelnuts to the EU in Q1 of 2024

In the first quarter of 2024, Düzce in Türkiye exported 3.99 thousand metric tons (mt) of hazelnuts to the European Union (EU). The shipments were divided into 2.29 thousand mt in Jan-24, 541 mt in Feb-24, and 151 mt in Mar-24. In 2023, Düzce exported 9.73 thousand mt of hazelnut kernels to the EU, which highlights its significant role in the hazelnut export market.

Ordu Establishes New Hazelnut Orchards to Boost Production and Quality

Ordu, Türkiye, established modern hazelnut orchards as part of the Hazelnut Orchards Project (HOP), supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The project aims to increase the yield and quality of hazelnuts by replacing old and unproductive orchards with new ones. The process involves creating terraces and rejuvenation works, resulting in a significant improvement in hazelnut production.

Azerbaijan's Hazelnut Exports Decreased USD 900 Thousand in the First Two Months of 2024

The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms & Communication reports that Azerbaijan's hazelnut export value decreased by USD 900 thousand to USD 22.4 million in the first two months of 2024. However, the exports in Feb-24 increased by 7% YoY to USD 12.3 million, compared to USD 11.5 million in Feb-23.
