The 'Hazelnut Gardens Rehabilitation Project' in Ordu, Turkey, initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, aims to modernize and enhance the productivity and quality of hazelnut production, a key agricultural sector for the country. Launched in 2021, the project focuses on renovating inefficient, traditional hazelnut orchards, especially those on sloped terrains, by replacing old trees and creating terraces for new, exemplary gardens. Covering 250 decares across 9 districts with the involvement of 34 producers, and plans to expand to an additional 100 decares, this initiative seeks to bolster the economy through improved hazelnut yields and quality, ensuring higher profitability for producers.
