The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure's post on September 2, 2022, highlighted the performance of the 'Grain Corridor Agreement' in its inaugural month, focusing on the significant cargo traffic between Ukraine and various destinations, including Turkey. A total of 1.68 million tons of cargo was transported across six types of crops from Ukrainian ports to destinations such as Turkey, Germany, China, and others, with Turkey receiving 378,887 tons. The transportation involved 69 ships, 26 of which were Turkish-linked, and 86 ships were inspected or cleared to operate following the war situation and the corridor's opening, accounting for 41% of the total. The initiative aimed at easing global food supply concerns by ensuring the transport of grain from war-torn Ukraine.
