Since March 2022, over 1,700 tons of fresh fruits and vegetables have been exported from China to Russia's Transbaikal region, with vegetables making up 98% of the export. The exports included garlic, carrots, cabbage, and other vegetables, as well as kiwi, mango, and pineapple. The Russian Federal Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Supervision conducted over 280 samples, finding mulberry scale insects in 4 samples but still released all the products after phytosanitary control procedures. Since 2022, over 10,000 tons of fruits and vegetables have been exported to Russia from China through the Transbaikal Plant Quarantine Station.
