The official export figures for 2021 have not yet been released, but the first data comes from the monthly report that CAPeCa prepares for its associates. In the work, an increase is observed with respect to the exports of 2020 and a parity with the figures of 2019, the last year outside the pandemic that can be taken as a reference. When comparing volumes and currencies in the last three years, it can be seen that there were complications for the sector, but despite this, the level of activity was maintained. Some fisheries suffered considerable ups and downs, such as shrimp or squid, but this was due to problems other than covid, such as the conflict with the unions for shrimp in 2020 or the fall in the price of squid in 2021.
