The 2022 peanut crop in São Paulo, Brazil is projected to grow by 15% to 20% compared to the previous year, potentially yielding one million tons of raw peanuts. This is due to an increase in planted area and favorable conditions. Harvesting is expected to begin on February 15 and end in April. São Paulo, which accounts for 93% of Brazil's peanut production, is the main source of these legumes, which are exported to several countries. Producers in the state will also benefit from a recent decree that provides them with more efficient credit transfer and tax exemption procedures, aimed at enhancing their competitiveness.
