The domestic pepper price in Vietnam is currently ranging from 82,500 to 85,000 VND/kg, with a recent decline of 2,500 to 3,000 VND/kg last week. Experts predict that prices may drop further, despite concerns. In the first 10 months of the year, Vietnam's pepper import and export volumes have decreased by 29.1% and 4.95%, respectively, compared to the same period in 2020. Meanwhile, in India, black pepper prices have risen due to relaxed Covid-19 restrictions. Concurrently, the price of Thai white sugar has increased by 3.08% to 522.8 USD/ton, while cocoa futures for March 2022 in New York and London have fallen by 0.5% and 0.9%, respectively. Cocoa farmers in Ivory Coast and Ghana are hopeful about the yield of the current crop, given the favorable weather conditions in West Africa.
