European green organizations are being criticized for their views on animal husbandry and its impact on climate change. The European Commission has proposed measures to reduce the use of pesticides, fertilizers, and antibiotics in agriculture, with Hungary spending the most on animal welfare subsidies per animal unit in the EU. However, the proposed 20% reduction in pesticides and fertilizers use could negatively impact Hungarian farmers. A campaign was launched to educate consumers about agriculture and debunk common misconceptions, such as the amount of water needed to produce beef.
