Small cherries in Southwest China are now available in the market, with prices ranging from 10-25 yuan per catty, the lowest since last year. The main supply is from Panzhihua, Sichuan, especially the Miyi cherries. The planting area for these cherries in Sichuan is estimated at 150,000 mu, with an annual yield of 80-100,000 tons. Due to their tender nature, small cherries have a limited supply time and face challenges in long-distance transportation and storage. However, efforts are being made to improve post-harvest processing technology, optimize variety, and extend storage time to enhance their marketability.
