In November, the United States significantly reduced its imports of Brazilian rice by 58,000 tons compared to the same month in 2019, totaling 40,275 tons. Despite this setback, Brazil's overall rice exports for the commercial year increased to 1.61 million tonnes from 982,883 tonnes in the previous year, reaching 1.76 million tons when including January to November imports. These achievements reflect well on Brazil's resilience in meeting domestic and international demand, even amidst COVID-19 related challenges, as noted by Tiago Sarmento Barata of Sindarroz-RS.
