At 3:00 AM in Samsun, a night auction saw chests full of mackerel, barbun, and anchovies being sold off quickly. Starting from September 1, with the opening of the fishing season, fishermen are selling their catch at the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Fish Market through auctions. The auctioned anchovies, barbun, mackerel, and sprats are bought by fishermen and transported to various provinces across Turkey. The fish auction, which starts at midnight at the market, continues until the first light of morning. Fish weighing between 10 and 15 kilograms were sold off quickly. Fishermen noted that the abundance of fish and the favorable prices this year will delight the public. Mehmet Bayrak said, "Our season has started. The barbun, mackerel, and anchovies are very good.
