The Ministry of Agriculture in Afghanistan has announced a record harvest of over 21 tons of saffron for the year 2021, with the majority of the cultivation done in Herat province. Other significant saffron-producing provinces include Balkh, Faryab, Kunduz, Farah, and Daikundi. A total of 7,900 hectares of saffron cultivation was recorded in the 1399 solar year. The ministry is actively working to enhance saffron yield and has distributed farming equipment to the sector, planning to continue its support and efforts into the next solar year.
