Agricultural officials detect 85 cases of false origin labeling and unlabeled products in Gyeonggi Province.

Ahead of the Chuseok holiday, the Gyeonggi Province branch of the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service conducted inspections on origin labeling in the Seoul metropolitan area and surrounding regions, identifying 85 businesses in violation. Among the businesses caught, 31 were criminally charged for falsely labeling the origin of foreign livestock products and vegetables, while 54 businesses were fined for not labeling at all. The inspection took place in two phases: from September 15 to September 22, targeting manufacturers and processors of agricultural and food products for gifts and offerings, and from September 23 to October 2, targeting distributors of agricultural and livestock products in major cities, including department stores, large discount stores, and traditional markets.
