The Association of Retail Companies (AKORT) in Russia has refuted claims of a 100% markup on potatoes in retail chains, stating that leading chains are actually selling popular potato items at prices below purchase prices during October and November. The average markup for AKORT member retail chains is 22%, with some items even seeing a minus markup. AKORT has called for a balanced assessment of the food market's price situation and is demanding Rusprodsoyuz to provide evidence for their claim of a 100% average markup.
