The article highlights the significance of the 'Sardi' breed of sheep in the Chaouia region of Morocco, particularly in and around the urban group of Al Burouj in Settat province. Despite the impact of drought, livestock breeding, especially of the Sardi breed, remains a crucial economic activity. The region produces 22,000 tons of red meat, including 6,000 tons of Sardi meat, and the breed is highly valued for its adaptability to poor pastures and its aesthetic appeal. Breeders use advanced techniques and special care to improve the offspring, with efforts to track and monitor the health of the lambs. The competition to breed the best rams has led to significant improvements in the quality of the Sardi sheep.
