Massive and irreversible damage is being inflicted on fruit plantations by the black gold beetle in several regions of the country. In recent weeks, several fruit farms in the Haskovo region have already gone bankrupt, the Branch Chamber "Fruits and Vegetables" (BCPZ) has alarmed. The problem with the pest is escalating rapidly and destroying years of work. The beetle attacks the trees, leaves them with no chance of recovery, and leads to total losses and the impossibility of continuing production. "This is a crisis that grows daily. Our members are losing their livelihoods, and the state has not yet presented a solution on how the situation will be managed," the chamber's management said.
