Algeria procured large batches of wheat and barley through tenders.

According to market operators, Algeria's state grain agency OAIC held an international tender on November 11 to purchase at least 500,000 tons of food wheat of any origin, where it acquired undisclosed quantities of wheat at a price of $263-264/ton C&F with delivery to the port of Mostaganem and $270-271/ton C&F with delivery to the port of Tenes. Traders believe that the requirement for the arrival of wheat to only two ports indicates the purchase of a relatively small volume. Later, information emerged that the purchase volume was 150-170 thousand tons.
