According to market operators, Algeria's state grain agency OAIC held an international tender on November 11 to purchase at least 500,000 tons of food wheat of any origin, where it acquired undisclosed quantities of wheat at a price of $263-264/ton C&F with delivery to the port of Mostaganem and $270-271/ton C&F with delivery to the port of Tenes. Traders believe that the requirement for the arrival of wheat to only two ports indicates the purchase of a relatively small volume. Later, information emerged that the purchase volume was 150-170 thousand tons. It is expected that the majority of the contracted wheat will be supplied from the EU countries and the Black Sea region, and should be delivered to the buyer between December 1 of this year and February 15, 2026.
