Spain: Uneven end to the campaign in Almería with drop in melon and watermelon prices

(R.P.) The fruit and vegetable campaign in Almeria comes to an end at the beginning of July. For a few more weeks, the latest products will continue to be marketed, but in insignificant quantities considering the volume of kilos that the province moves during the natural agricultural exercise. Melon prices have fallen in recent days with average values of thirty twenty-five cents for the yellow type and forty cents for the category type, while the Galia is sold for less than twenty euro cents per kilo. The majority of the watermelon harvest has also come to an end with average values of thirty cents, highlighting the prices of the black type with an average of forty cents and the striped one with thirty cents of a euro per kilo. The French cucumber is quoted between one euro with forty-one euro and twenty cents and the short black type starts sales around one euro and fifty cents and registers auctions of one euro and forty euro cents per kilo.
