Alternative protein sector rejects project that wants to ban research in Brazil

Entities operating in the alternative protein and bioeconomy sector reacted against bill 4616 of 2023, by deputy Tião Medeiros (PP-PR), which wants to prohibit the research, production and commercialization of cultivated meat in Brazil. The Good Food Institute Brazil (GFI), which works to accelerate innovation in the alternative protein sector, says that the proposal seeks to slow the segment's advancement through “unfounded arguments that contradict science itself”.
