According to Politico, officials from the Trump administration informed Republican lawmakers from Congress and representatives of the agricultural sector that they are considering purchasing 80,000 tons of Argentine beef, although this figure is not final and negotiations are ongoing, according to the four sources, who requested anonymity to discuss the matter. The current U.S. import quota for beef from Argentina is 20,000 tons. This quota pays a tariff of 10%. Outside of it, a 36.4% duty is paid.
