A pig farm in Argentina has been closed by the National Service of Agri-food Health and Quality (Senasa) due to a case of trichinosis, a disease that was also found in a person. Senasa veterinarian Carlos Sotera conducted the interdiction and sanitary procedures in accordance with regulations. Trichinosis is transmitted from animals to humans through undercooked pork or its processed products. Senasa is responsible for preventing and controlling zoonotic diseases in the province of Buenos Aires to ensure consumer health.
