The European Commission has reported that the packing point price of edible apples in the EU has remained steady at an average of 78 euro cents for several months, despite fluctuations in production and market conditions. The high prices in France and low prices in Poland are balancing each other out in the average. Last year's apple harvest in the EU was largely the same as in 2021, with only Hungary, Spain, and Portugal experiencing significant declines. However, these declines were compensated by the large Polish harvest. The price of apples in France is the highest in the EU, while in Hungary it is the lowest. The increase in the EU price of table apples came despite challenging sales conditions and reduced exports. However, the EU's apple stocks are currently average, and the current export price is 92 euro cents.
