The Agrarian Rural Productive Development Program (Agro Rural) inaugurated a modern hand-spun yarn production center in the district of Sibayo, Caylloma province, Arequipa region. This infrastructure will allow for the improvement of the productive capacity and quality of alpaca fiber processing for approximately 145 producing families. An investment of S/348,621.00 was allocated for the conditioning and implementation of this module. Thanks to this intervention, the beneficiary families will be able to generate primary added value to the alpaca fiber through the use of specialized equipment for its processing. They will also receive training workshops focused on the proper use of spinning machinery and the transformation of this resource. The processing plant is characterized by being easy to use and maintain.
