Argentina announces new reduction of export taxes for grains and by-products

By Guilherme Nannini São Paulo, 09/12/2025 - The Argentine Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, announced this Tuesday a new permanent reduction in export taxes for the grains and by-products chain. The measure, communicated via the social network X, aims to alleviate the tax burden on the agricultural sector, considered by the government as one of the main drivers of the local economy. Based on the decision, the rate on soybeans will drop from 26% to 24%, while the by-products of the oilseed will be reduced from 24.5% to 22.5%. For wheat and barley, the rate will fall from 9.5% to 7.5%. Corn and sorghum will have an adjustment from 9.5% to 8.5%, and sunflower will drop from 5.5% to 4.5%. Caputo stated that the elimination of taxes is a priority of President Javier Milei and that the government will continue to advance in this direction as macroeconomic conditions allow.
