Argentina has seen a 29% decrease in fisheries landings in the first eight months of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, totaling 564,685.6 tons. Despite this, illex squid landings increased by 25% to 165.342 tons, and hubbsi hake landings rose by 6.23% to 184,859.6 tons. However, shrimp landings fell by 10.32% to 146,065 tons, and yellow croaker landings were a complete failure, with artisanal fishermen migrating to chase shad. The total landings for the first eight months of 2022 were 8.755,7 tons less than the same period in the previous season.
