Analyst from Valor Agro, Martín Olaverry, pointed out that the Indian group Allana is evaluating landing in Corrientes, a possibility that could imply a strong boost for provincial cattle farming. The firm is one of the most relevant players in the world in meat production —especially buffalo, the most consumed in India— and maintains an important presence in Asia. As he explained, the company has been analyzing alternatives to enter South America for some time. At one point, it explored an agreement in Uruguay with two Brazilian companies, although ultimately the project did not succeed. Now, interest has gained strength again following Governor Gustavo Valdés' recent visit to India.
