Pavlo Bulgakov, the manager of an asparagus growing project in a village, shared insights with Suspilny about their farm's development and yield expectations. In 2023, the farm expanded its asparagus cultivation area from 6 to 13 hectares, aiming for a significant increase in production. Although the farm is not yet at full yield, it anticipates a 30% yield this year, with expectations to reach 70-80% next year, and achieving full yield, estimated at 6 tons per hectare, by the third year. The optimal growth temperature for asparagus is noted to be 27-28°C, under which conditions the plants can grow up to 10 cm overnight, making them ready for harvesting the next day.
