Pigeons cause constant trouble on many farms. They consume the feed, contaminate it, and increase the risk of infection. Farmers have been searching for years for a method that is effective yet environmentally friendly. Now, however, they have found the solution. Trained predatory birds are being deployed against the pigeons. The method is simple yet surprisingly effective. The predators regularly fly over the farm, causing the pigeons to feel uncomfortable within a few days and then gradually disappear. According to the farm, the change is rapid and noticeable: fewer pigeons, cleaner feed, and a quieter farm. The intervention is carried out by the falconry group from the Nitra University of Agricultural Sciences. The students go to the farm as a field practice, where they fly the trained birds under professional supervision.
