Australia's total dairy exports experienced a 4% decline in June compared to the previous year, with an overall decrease of 3% year-to-date. Despite this, the export values still saw a 6% increase year-to-date. Milk powder exports had mixed results, with a significant drop in whole milk powder, particularly to Asia and China, while skimmed milk powder exports rose by 19%. Anhydrous milk fat and butter exports also saw decreases. However, cheese and whey exports increased, with whey values up by 195%. Dairy production in Australia has fallen every month in the 21/22 season, with a variation of -3.5%, leading to higher production costs and likely contributing to the decrease in exports.
