Australia's barley exports in September saw a decrease from the previous month, totaling 249,000 tonnes, as reported by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Despite this, the 2023/24 season's total shipments stand at 7.9 million tonnes, with a notable 4.97 million tonnes being feed barley and 2.94 million tonnes malting grain. China has been the main market for these exports, receiving 3.9 million tonnes of feed barley and 2.2 million tonnes of malting grain, while Japan also imported significant amounts of feed barley. This export volume places Australia's total barley exports in the 2023/24 season third on the country's list of highest exports of this commodity.
