Despite a poor almond harvest in 2023 due to severe September frosts, Australia saw a significant increase in production in 2024 with the addition of 20,000 hectares of plantings between 2017 and 2019. The 2025/26 season is expected to perform well due to high almond prices, which have been at their highest in five years. The harvest season has been relatively dry, improving fruit quality and resulting in larger kernels. Australian almond sales exceeded official harvests, reaching a record 158,339 tons, and exports to China, in particular, saw significant growth, increasing by 381% from December 2023.
