Since 2015, Austria has been exporting frozen pork carcasses to China, with six meat establishments registered for this trade. By 2023, around 5,000 tonnes of pork were exported to China. A significant development occurred on February 29, 2024, when the export protocol was expanded to include pork-derived products like offal, feet, and heads, meeting the Chinese market's demand for these items. This expansion opens new opportunities for Austrian pork producers in the Chinese market, marking a notable advancement in the trade relationship between Austria and China.
