Amid songs and dances, the Taccata-Umasi-Chacralla Integrated Irrigation System was launched, which will irrigate 589 agricultural hectares benefiting over 1,300 producers from the communities of Taccata, Umasi, and Chacralla in the Ayacucho region.
The execution of the project is in charge of the Special Project Sierra Centro Sur (PESCS) and has a budget exceeding S/27 million. The laying of the first stone was led by the executive director of PESCS, accompanied by the mayors of Hualla, Aucará, and Víctor Fajardo, as well as communal authorities. During the ceremony, the importance of the project was highlighted and a call was made to the population to accompany and monitor the execution of the work.
The head of PESCS added that the construction of the irrigation work will generate employment, directly benefiting the districts involved.
