The Çarşamba Chamber of Agriculture has reported a decline in vegetable production in the Çarşamba district of Samsun, Turkey, due to increasing hazelnut and kiwi plantations. The district now primarily focuses on hazelnut cultivation, with kiwi planting on the rise, while other products such as beans, mullet, peppers, tomatoes, cucumber, leafy greens, corn, and various fruits are also grown. The total area dedicated to these crops is 10,216 decares for vegetables and 75,935 decares for other crops and grains, with 6,202 decares set aside for fruit and other crops like pears, quince, walnuts, strawberries, and mushrooms.
