Azerbaijani farmers may receive subsidies for intensive berry cultivation

In Azerbaijan, the Council for Agricultural Subsidies considered the issue of supporting the development of the berry business in the country. According to the decision of the Council, berry producers will be able to receive subsidies in the new economic year, EastFruit reports. The Ministry of Agriculture notes that farmers who plant intensive raspberry plantations in any region of the republic from September 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025 will be provided with a one-time planting subsidy in the amount of 3,200 manats per hectare. According to Day.az, the subsidy will apply to intensive raspberry plantations equipped with a drip irrigation system, where at least 4,700 seedlings are planted per hectare. For intensive gardens that do not meet the specified requirements, two different subsidies are provided depending on the irrigation system.
