The global persimmon market is expected to grow from its current $0.89 billion to $1.2 billion by 2029. Azerbaijan is among the contributing countries, with its persimmon exports experiencing a growth of 14.7% in the first ten months of 2024, reaching a value of $52.9 million. The country's production is supported by various subsidies and insurance, with a focus on increasing export markets and processing activities. Economist Rauf Garayev stresses the importance of diversifying export markets and expanding the production of value-added persimmon products to reduce storage costs and increase income for producers.
