Beans: exports hit historic record

According to the Brazilian Institute of Beans and Pulses (Ibrafe), São Paulo has resumed the harvest of beans, still with high moisture in the grains. Even so, the best batches reached R$ 255 per sack when the moisture was below 18%, and around R$ 240 per sack in the more humid batches. With the advance of the harvest expected today, before the return of rains on Saturday, the available volume is expected to increase in the coming days. Historically, the first shipments are usually sold at the current price, but Ibrafe evaluates that, by the end of the month, the supply pressure should decrease and make room for a price increase. In December, the volume of business tends to fall, and many producers already indicate that they should hold the product to sell only next year, betting on better margins.
