REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) and Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman emphasized that producers and distributors will be taken to task if they raise the price of beef above the government's set limits. “If you find prices above the HET, don't chase the market traders, but chase the distributors and producers. There will be no mercy for cooking oil and meat,” said Amran in a statement received in Jakarta, Wednesday (4/2/2026). According to Amran, strategic commodities such as rice, cooking oil, and sugar have no reason to experience price increases because the current stock is abundant.
