Brazil has seen a significant surge in the export of bee products, with honey leading the charge, resulting in a 143.9% increase in April 2021 compared to the same month the previous year, totaling US $ 22.5 million. The main consumers are the United States, European Union, Canada, Japan, and China. This growth is attributed to the dedication and expertise of Brazilian beekeepers, who use advanced techniques and manage over 250,000 apiaries. The Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA) is actively supporting the sector through its Artisanal and Traditional Food Program and the Agro.BR Project, which aims to further internationalize Brazilian agribusiness. Senar also offers free beekeeping booklets and technical assistance, which have significantly improved the financial stability of beekeepers like Francisco Cardoso da Silva and Arenaldo Aires dos Santos, providing them with a sustainable source of income and offering hope for the future of the beekeeping industry in Brazil.
