The article highlights the efforts to revive the rearing of Ben gourd ducks in Hoa Binh province, Vietnam, which have faced challenges due to their high maintenance and low economic viability. Despite the challenges, one woman, Ms. Hieu, continues to raise the ducks, feeding them differently to make their meat fragrant and providing them to her family and relatives. The ducks are also raised without using vaccines or antibiotics. The article also emphasizes the cultural significance of ducks in Muong Xua cuisine and traditions.
