Berry producers spoke about the main difficulties in the 2025 season

This was reported by the Association "Berry Farming of Ukraine" based on a survey among market participants. According to the association, droughts were frequently recorded in Vinnytsia and southern regions this year, and the water available for irrigation was of poor quality and required expensive treatment. This negatively impacted the yield and reduced the supply of berries. In the logistics sector, the dependency on rented carriers became a problem, delaying the supply of products. There was also a shortage of cold storage facilities: during peak harvest periods, some farms received refusals for accepting berries. The limited infrastructure increased the level of losses and put pressure on prices. Producers are trying to reduce cooling costs by installing solar panels. However, to increase energy independence, batteries are needed that would allow selling electricity during peak hours and reduce processing costs.
