In a webinar on land-based aquaculture production, Yoav Dagan, VP of business development at AquaMaof, discussed the potential of shrimp and grouper as species for RAS production after Atlantic salmon. He highlighted AquaMaof's R&D investment in shrimp genetics and water treatment, and grouper's suitability for land-based farming due to its social behavior. Dagan also introduced catfish as a species of interest for its high protein content and potential in RAS, despite traditional low value and high production cost. He suggested that with current technology, RAS production costs could be as low as or lower than cage farming.
