Despite a good harvest projected to be 5-10% higher than last year, the Ukrainian agricultural sector will remain unprofitable due to limited export opportunities and low domestic prices, according to First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Taras Vysotsky. The price situation is worse compared to last year, indicating that the industry will suffer losses of around $3.5 billion in 2023. Vysotsky believes improving logistics and optimizing export routes could potentially solve the problem by raising domestic prices.
