African Swine Fever (ASF) continues to spread globally, impacting the pork market and causing significant losses to pig farmers in Asia, Europe, and other regions. Despite the disease's complex nature, countries like the USA, Spain, and Vietnam are investing in research to develop a vaccine. Meanwhile, prevention and control measures, such as biosecurity practices and movement restrictions, are key in limiting the disease's spread. As of January 2021, ASF has been reported in 40 countries, affecting over 850,000 pigs and 23,000 wild boars, according to the World Organization for Animal Health.
